Ferrous Fumarate® 500 Tabs

Product Description

Ferrous Fumarate is one of the most stable, least toxic, and easily assimilable forms of iron. Each tablet contains 200 mg of Ferrous Fumarate I.P., equivalent to approximately 65 mg of elemental iron.

Composition

• Ferrous Fumarate I.P. – 0.2 g

Indications

For routine treatment of iron deficiency anemias arising from:

• Excessive blood loss in chronic hemorrhages (e.g., piles)
• Hookworm infestation
• Hematemesis and hemoptysis
• Deficient dietary intake of iron
• Growing children and premature babies to aid weight gain
• Maintaining hemoglobin levels in old age and during convalescence

In all cases, the primary cause of anemia should be corrected; otherwise, the condition will recur once treatment is stopped.

Dosage

Adults: 1 to 3 tablets daily after food, or as directed by the physician.
Children: ½ to 1 tablet after food.

Contraindications

Peptic ulcer, malabsorption syndrome, and known intolerance.
