An antiseptic dusting powder for wounds and ulcers.

Composition

• Iodoform N.F. – 2.29 g
• Alum I.P. 1966 – 2.29 g
• Boric Acid I.P. – 6.86 g
• Turmeric I.P. 1966 – 6.80 g

Indications

Iodoform and Boric Acid are well-known local antiseptics. Alum acts as a decongestant, while Turmeric provides antiseptic and mild analgesic effects.

When applied locally, Iodoform gradually decomposes, releasing iodine continuously and preventing microbial growth. The powder reduces secretions and helps keep the wound surface clean.

Dosage

Can be freely applied to wounds and ulcers; if necessary, cover with gauze and bandage.

For chronic discharge of pus from the ear: apply loosely, plug the ear with cotton, and clean after 1–2 days. The procedure may be repeated twice; a third application is rarely required.
