Burns result when the source of heat comes into contact with the skin. They are one of the most common forms of home injuries. Burns pose a major threat only when the degree of injury is high or if there is an infection.

First-Degree Burns (Top Layer Of The Skin)
Red skin, Mild pain, Minor Swelling

Second-Degree Burns (Layer Beneath Top Layer)
Swelling, Blisters, Peeling of the skin, Severe pain, Wet-looking area, with bright pink to cherry red color.

Third-Degree Burns (All Layers)
Very severe pain, Charred skin, Numbness
