Gingivitis is a disease that causes any bleeding gums, gingivitis usually occurs due to bad oral hygiene. A periodontal disease, it affects the tissues surrounding teeth and gums. Though a person may not be aware of the problem at initial stages, Gingivitis can eventually lead to the destruction of bones and even toothloss.

Causes Of Gingivitis

Poor dental hygiene, Ill-fitting dental appliances, Poor eating habits, Poor tooth alignment, Heavy plaque deposits, Blood disorders, Drug reactions, Vitamin deficiencies, Hormonal changes, especially those caused by pregnancy, puberty and menopause, Bad oral habits, especially smoking, Certain medications that reduce the saliva in the mouth, Poor nutrition, Viral and fungal infection, Certain diseases, like diabetes, cancer, and HIV, Use of contraceptive pills.
